The Nalu Villa // Airbnb Design From Concept to Life

This past Fall, we were approached by realtor Sean Yano to collaborate on creating an idyllic one bedroom airbnb condo in Kona. He and his wife had a vision in place of the style and feel he wanted but needed help coming up with a comprehensive design for each space in the property. Check out the before photos!

We put our heads down and took lots of inspiration from light and airy Byron Bay coastal interiors and Bali styled villas. After design was approved we sourced like crazy and put together a comprehensive shopping checklist with links included for this family to begin purchasing.

Our role for this project was completely comprehensive, from design concept, mood board, budget, providing construction advice, shopping list, and traveling to the Big Island for a day of set up and styling. We had a blast and love how the final look turned out!

Coming up with a name and creating a custom acrylic and wood laser cut sign made by Hawaii Calligraphy helps market the unit to stand out from other places.

Open shelving provides just enough space for essentials in a vacation rental and also creates a pretty display in the kitchen.

Fun local art work provides a welcoming touch! Definitely not your average rental unit.

This small bathroom packed a punch by adding statement wallpaper as a focal point. It’s one of our favorite spaces in the unit!
